Ripley’s Aquarium
Ripley’s® Aquarium is a spectacular $40 million, 87,000 square-foot state-of-the-art aquarium experience, located at the fabulous Broadway at the Beach complex in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. One of South Carolina’s most visited attractions, guests are entertained by some of the worlds most beautiful and fascinating creatures of the sea.
A 750,000 gallon tank on a 330-foot moving glidepath is surrounded on all sides by giant sharks as they gracefully pass through Dangerous Reef. Another entertaining feature at Ripley’s® Aquarium is Ray Bay, exhibiting a variety of rays from several viewing levels and Friendship Flats, guests can get up close and personal, as they touch a variety of Rays, including; Atlantic rays, Southern rays, Cow-Nose rays, Spotted Eagle rays and Bonnet-Head sharks.
Rainbow Rock is simply astonishing, generating a lot of excitement amongst adults and children alike in Myrtle Beach, SC. Looking through a giant acrylic window, the size of two movie screens, you will see some of the most brilliant colors known to man as thousands of fish from Hawaii, Australia and the Indian Ocean swim on by right in front of you.
Do not miss the Rio Amazon, a freshwater exhibit that showcases the notorious piranha and other exotic species that are unique to the Amazon rain forest. The Living Gallery features collections of delicate and beautiful undersea life including; Pacific Giant Octopus, Sea Anemones, living Corals, Jellies and Weedy Sea Dragons. The Schooling Fish tank is a 10- foot cylindrical exhibit that is home to a variety of fish native to our coastal waters.
