Myrtle Beach Golfaway

Myrtle Beach National

Myrtle Beach National features three esteemed golf courses: Kings North, West and SouthCreek.

SouthCreek
Distinctly different from a lot of Myrtle Beach courses, South Creek stands out with its well protected waste areas and greens. This gorgeous layout winds its way through spectacular coastal wetlands and hardwood forests while unusually shaped freshwater lakes place an emphasis on club selection for your approach shots.

Playing only 6,400 yards from the back tees, which is short by today’s standards, this golf course requires finesse and forces you to focus on accuracy rather than distance. With an abundance of waste areas and well-protected greens, South Creek demands the precision of a truly skilled golfer and will expose poor course management and shot-making ability.

King’s North
Located in central Myrtle Beach, King’s North presents some of the most dramatic and unique holes in all of golf. The impressive list of accolades for this Arnold Palmer signature golf course just keeps growing. The par-5, sixth hole – nicknamed “The Gambler” features an island fairway which offers golfers a “risk-reward” short-cut to the green for a chance at eagle, these two precise shots required bring to mind Kenny Rogers’ song: “You’ve got to know when to hold ‘em; know when to fold ‘em; know when to walk away; know when to run.”

The famous par-3 third hole with the island green has been redesigned; a wooden bulkhead has been added to create greater definition to an enlarged green. It has retained the distinctive “SC” bunkers. The 18th hole, has over 40 bunkers guarding either side of the fairway and was aptly nicknamed “The Bull’s – Eye” by Golf Magazine, the green reaches out into a lake offering a number of very tempting pin placements. This is definitely a “must play” when booking your Myrtle Beach golf package.

King’s West
Located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, the West Course is a classic Arnold Palmer design and features Bentgrass greens.
Winding through a gorgeous Carolina forest with no real estate development on any fairways, the West course offers the look and feel of an exclusive, private club.

This Palmer layout features numerous doglegs, fairway bunkers and natural hazards that make it one of the most interesting and challenging courses in Myrtle Beach. The West course finishes with a spectacular 230-yard par 3 over a water hazard; no wonder Golf Digest awarded this course 4.5 star in their prestigious “Places to Play” course rankings.
