This 18 hole, Russell Breeden designed golf course first opened in1999 and is still surrounded by pristine natural wetlands and classic lowcountry forest. The Sea Trail Golf Resort features three excellent golf courses designed by some of golf’s most esteemed architects: Willard Byrd, Dan Maples and Rees Jones.

Without question, the Dan Maples course at the Sea Trail Resort is still regarded as one of the finest in Myrtle Beach. Voted the “Best New Resort Courses” in the nation in 1986, the twisted ancient oaks, tall Carolina pines and tifdwarf greens define each hole on the beautiful par-72 course. Five holes wind along the scenic Calabash Creek, home to nesting pairs of osprey. A medium-length, accuracy-demanding course, the Maples is unique in its use of waste bunkers. The bunker on the 15th extends the full length of the fairway, making it a challenge for even the experienced golfer. Adding to the challenge is the beauty of the scenery. It can be a distraction, especially upon the first visit to Sea Trail.
