Myrtle Beach Golfaway

Possum Trot Golf Club

North Myrtle Beach’s Possum Trot has been open since 1968 and is a traditional 6,966-yard design with no hidden hazards or gimmicks. Although the fairways feature generous landing areas, positioning is crucial because you want a good approach angle to greens that are well protected by bunkers. Bring all your sticks, because this Grand Strand stalwart will require that you use all of them. Water is visible on 14 holes but is not overly done; the course is very fair and very reasonably priced and the Bermuda grass greens and fairways are always in tip top shape.

Enjoy a nine-acre practice facility which includes a 12,000-square foot practice putting green, a huge outdoor range, a short game area and indoor hitting nets. Possum Trot’s appeal is a prime example of a midlevel golf course that has aged very nicely and is enhanced by the warm atmosphere surrounding it, from the bag drop to the snack bar, it offers an abundance of Southern charm and is typical of the type of facility that has helped Myrtle Beach earn its outstanding reputation.
