Cagney’s Old Place Restaurant

restaurants-cagneysCagney’s in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, opened its brass doors in May of 1976, and some three million happy customers later, they are still going strong. Cagney’s is owned by two lifelong friends who both grew up in the restaurant business, this was back in the days when Myrtle Beach was a seasonal vacation destination, beginning on Memorial Day and ending on Labor Day.

The fascinating fretwork, doorways and antiques have been carefully selected, whether purchased, pilfered or salvaged over the years from estate auctions, antique dealers and demolitions of famous landmarks. The two Dinos take full responsibility and credit for the design and décor; it was their idea to incorporate every style of architecture into their Myrtle Beach restaurant.

Now let’s take a look at a few items on the menu, for starters, we recommend the She Crab Soup; served piping hot, it’s Cagney’s  own famous thick and creamy recipe, or you may want to try the Cajun filet chunks; juicy Tenderloin and Mushrooms served with a spicy Salsa.

Choose from a variety of fresh salads, how about the tasty and tangy Greek Salad with Chicken; imagine Feta Cheese, fresh Olives, crispy Peppers, Greens, Tomato and grilled Chicken all tossed in a Greek salad dressing, or perhaps the Caesar or Greek Salad with Lemon Pepper Shrimp; simply delicious, fresh crispy greens, topped with a skewer of juicy Marinated Shrimp, a Myrtle Beach favorite

Now, on to the main course, you may want to indulge in their famous Prime Rib, slow roasted for maximum flavor and tenderness and served with delicious Au Jus! All of their Beef is aged in-house and hand cut daily, and there are several cuts to choose from, for the small appetite, we recommend the Light Cut; an eight ounce cut of juicy, tender, flavorful Beef served with Au Jus, or perhaps the Blackened Prime Rib; name your size, dusted in their enticing homemade Cajun Spices, then flavor-seared to absolute perfection.

Seen as you are in Myrtle Beach, you may want to try the surf and turf, the Filet Mignon & Lobster Tail; this ten ounce piece of juicy beef is combined with a succulent Lobster tail and is simply divine. For the bigger appetite, we suggest the House Cut Prime Rib and Lobster Tail; a man sized juicy and flavorful Prime at twelve ounces, combined with a succulent nine ounce Lobster tail,…….ENJOY!

If Beef is your game, you will be happy to know that their steaks are among the best that Myrtle Beach has to offer, for instance the Filet Marsala; a tender ten ounce filet smothered generously in Mushrooms and spicy Marsala sauce, or perhaps the Ribeye and Sautéed Shrimp; a selection of juicy Ribeye steak served with a side of perfectly sautéed Shrimp.

For the Seafood lover, the selections go on and on, perhaps we can tickle your taste buds with a peak at a couple of items, a local favorite in Myrtle Beach since 1976, the Flounder Cagney; thick fresh Flounder baked in a delicious Herb-Wine-Butter and served over a bed of fresh Parmesan Tomato slices, or perhaps the Pasta Scampi; “Marinara Style” Shrimp, succulent Scallops, fresh veggies and Mushrooms sautéed and blended with Penne Pasta, Mmmm!

There are several chicken dishes to choose from, how about the ever so tasty Grilled Chicken Parmesan; grilled chicken topped with Mushrooms, Provolone cheese and Marinara sauce on a bed of Penne Pasta, or the delightful Blackened Chicken Breast; a boneless chicken breast dusted in their Cajun Spices and topped with a generous dollop of  their fine Cajun Chutney,…..WOW!

Cagney’s also offers delicious Burgers and Sandwiches; a local favorite is the Pizza Cheese Burger, served with Cheese, Marinara Sauce, Lettuce, Tomato and Duchess Potato on a toasted English muffin, then there is something a little different, the French Dip Sandwich; delicious thin sliced Prime Rib served with a Side of Au Jus, lettuce, tomato and Duchess Potato on a toasted English muffin.

For the little tikes, the Myrtle Beach restaurant has several items to choose from, the ever popular, Yo’ Little Wienee; a grilled Hot Dog with Duchess Potato or maybe the tasty Steak Bites; perfectly grilled steak bites, served with Duchess Potato.

Finish your dinner with one of their delectable deserts, like the Crepe Garbo (for Cheesecake lovers) New York Cheesecake filling hugged in a Crepe and topped with Blueberries & Whipped Cream, or perhaps the Espresso Parfait; rich Coffee flavors swirled through soft Ice Cream.
