Thoroughbreds Chophouse & Seafood Grille

restaurants-thoroughbredsSince opening in 1988, Thoroughbreds Chophouse & Seafood Grille has earned its reputation and is known simply as the “best overall restaurant” in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Thoroughbreds is also widely known as the perennial locals’ favorite, serving only the finest beef and ultra-fresh seafood.

Instead of eating the same blasé food you get at the chain restaurants back home, why not dine in a true Myrtle Beach classic. Allow the local wildlife on their Paddock Porch to liven the mood, cowboy up with their famously delicious 20-ounce bone-in ribeye, or sit down to the southeast’s freshest seafood, only hours removed from the ocean to the grille.

The Thoroughbreds menu includes; a post parade of tender, juicy select cuts of beef and veal, delectable fowl, and only the freshest seafood, all carefully prepared and served with classic southern style. Tantalizing appetizers, hearty chowders, warm crusty breads, crisp vegetables, and delicate desserts all complement the superb gallery of entree selections. From the “Starting Gate” to the “Finish Line”, an evening at Thoroughbreds will be an evening to remember.

Thoroughbreds are also pleased to offer an outstanding selection of wines, wine and food should always complement each other–light wines with light meals, full bodied wines with hearty meals. If you are having more than one wine with a meal, start with the lightest and work your way up to the more robust wines. It is their policy to maintain stock on every wine on their list. Thoroughbreds have been the proud recipient of Wine Spectator’s Annual “Award of Excellence” since 2001.

A visit to Myrtle Beach is incomplete without dining at Thoroughbreds Chophouse & Seafood Grille, enjoy an evening of delicious food and refreshing drinks that you won’t soon forget.

  1. We are very unhappy with Thoroughbreds. We had a $150 gift certificate from Christmas and as we are not here all year round we brought it in and were denied “by new management” on my Mom’s 85th Bday. The place smelled like urine so I am glad we did not stay. Good luck new management, word of mouth is important.

  2. Hello Pam,
Wow, I am very sad to hear that about your experience at Thoroughbreds. If the gift certificate was a valid date then they should have honored with no problems. Where did you end up eating instead…are there any other restaurants you would recommend to others visiting Myrtle Beach?
